DTP Review and Introduction to BIG MAN ON CAMPUS

Good Sunday to all! Today is the start of Week 4. The last hurdle in the DTP Program by Kris Gethin.

For the past 3 weeks, I've been training hard, going to failure and setting new records each week. In a typical DTP workout, there are 20 sets, high reps (rep range for the entire workout is somewhere between 450+ to 500+ reps)

On each weight training day, 2 muscle groups are targeted.
- Legs and Upper Abs,
- Chest and Back,
- Arms and Lower Abs,
- Shoulders and Traps.

Cardio is done in between weight training days.

The gains I have experienced over the past few weeks are mainly Strength (lots of it), Improvement in the size of my muscles (though I feel that my growth can be improved with better supplementation and better clean bulking) and my Cardiovascular Health has really improved.

I couldn't run at all before this program but now, I can run a good 30 minutes non stop in any terrain.

So if anyone is looking to start training but want to get a good solid strength foundation, The DTP program is certainly worth giving a try.

After this program, I'm giving myself a week off from training and come back to do another 12 Week Program designed by Steve Cook.

This program really forces your muscles to adapt to the changes. I'll be doing a lot more exercises and less reps. This program is suited to bodybuilders or anyone who wants to start adding more details to your physique. I'm not in College but I find that the selection of exercises Steve has put together will be a great transition from my current workout. DTP is all about POWER, B.M.O.C is all about details.

While this is a 12 week program, I may do a hybrid of this with the DTP.
8 Weeks on the Big Man on Campus program and superset that with 4 weeks of DTP to make it a complete 12 week.

In my 1 Week Recovery Phase, I'll be writing up on products that has caught my attention and the ones that I will use to enhance the quality of my workout.

Thanks for reading, Stay Strong, Train Hard.
Cheers!

End of Week 3

Hello! I'm just feeling great right now. I'm done with day 21. In week 2, I found out that doing shoulders is the most challenging body part to train for me. Last week I was a little off with my supplement regime but days ago, I started using the Assault Pre-Workout Supplement by Muscle Pharm and my workouts have improved. I can't wait to start taking intra-workout supplements as well.

I like to use a very large bottle, fill it up with ice and water, then add 1/2 scoop of the powder as recommended.

The ice helps break down the powder and while the water is that cold, it sure makes drinking the Assault a lot better. Sometimes drinking with water that isn't cold enough makes me hate drinking supplements.

This is just my personal preference and may not be the best way but it's how I do it.

In my last remaining set, I was doing shrugs. Working from the heaviest dumbbell to the lightest. In each set, I'll go to failure and I kept going till I reach absolute failure.

Beside me was an elderly man and a personal trainer.
The man said out loud, "Crazy."

I'll never forget that and it made my day. To achieve that level of intensity. I was also wearing a Black Label Society T-shirt and the back print reads, "STRENGTH, DETERMINATION, MERCILESS, FOREVER..."

...and hell yeah! at the gym, I'm all that.

Week 4 is about to begin! With another Legs and Upper Abs workout.

Pre-Workout of The Year

Today, I'd like to talk about the Pre-Workout Supplement called ASSAULT by Muscle Pharm.
I recommended this product to my friend Jeff but he has his personal views on this and decided not to continue using it. Yesterday, he handed me the product and I said I'll have a go at it.

A quick summary:
The Assault mixes well, I'm taking the Orange Mango Flavor and it tastes good. It really is sweet and when the Assault is in your system for awhile, you'll feel a slight tingling feeling on your face. Not an irritating feeling though. It'd go away shortly.

How it affects your training is another thing. This is Important.

If you're looking to supercharge your workout, unleash the animal inside and just last longer, lift more, this is it.

Straight off the first set, you feel it going to work. I have not trained with this intensity in 3 weeks. Prior to this, I will normally take my Animal Nitro BCAA pills as my pre-workout supplement. It's good but what comes packed in the Assault is the perfect potion to destroy Week 3 and Week 4 of my DTP program. I don't trick myself into thinking that I'm feeling stronger just after drinking this, I put it to a real test.

Last night was my heaviest most challenging Arms and Abs exercise.
Last night I was at my best.
Last night was Beast Mode...

...and The Assault passed the test with flying colors. Enough said, If you're ready to go crazy at the gym, flood your system with this and just experience it yourself. Without any doubt, this truly is The Pre-Workout of The Year.

Day 19. Arms and Lower Abs

Today is Day 19. Arms and Lower Abs. Gotta love it. It'll be quick, intense and best of all, when I'm at the gym at 6pm, I don't have to wait for the flat/incline benches.

I'll be using more cables for the first 10 sets.

Standing Cable Bicep Curls: 5 sets of 40, 30, 20, 10, 10 reps

Superset with Overhead Cable Tricep Extensions: 5 sets of 40, 30, 20, 10, 10 reps

The final 10 sets will be using barbells for:

Standing Bicep Curls: 5 Sets of 10, 10, 20, 30, 40 reps and finally,

Supersetting with Skull crushers: 5 Sets of 10, 10, 20, 30, 40

20 Sets total: 440 reps today.

Then comes Hanging Leg Raise, 5 sets to Failure.

If it's not hard work..
It's just called work.

Cheers!

Never Run Out Of Supplements

Last night at the gym was insane. I ran out of my usual Universal Animal Nitro Aminos. I usually take a pre workout dose 30 minutes before my workout. Last night was one intense workout without them.

Valuable Lesson: Never run out of supplements. It was no doubt the toughest workout I have ever had in 3 weeks. The point where all you wanted to do was put back the weights, walk back to the changing room and leave the gym.

Thankfully, doing something like that felt wrong. I looked around and sure there was some intensity from other Big Guys who already have earned their strength and size yet looking back at me was myself, I saw that the man in the mirror needed a chance to grow. So putting that emotions aside, no matter how many pauses I needed to take to complete my sets.. I will never quit on a scheduled weight training.

It continued till 9 plus at night.. through each completed set, I dug deeper and deeper in my soul and finally completed all 20 sets.

There had never been a time in my life where after my workout, I had to do some stretching and just lie down to let the blood flow back to the rest of my body. I couldn't raise my left shoulder to take off my t-shirt even. Each rep in those closing moments of the workout were straight up mind over body, brutalized to total failure.

Waking up today (still) with a shoulder support worn throughout the night as I slept, reminded me of the pain people like me go through to reach our goals. I do encourage you to try if you think that changing your life both physically and mentally is important.

Today is my Cardio day and my day off from work.

I look forward to writing in tomorrow.

I just need to recover today.

Thanks and do come back for more articles.

Cheers

DTP Day 17.

Good morning everyone. Today is Day 17 of the DTP program. We'll be doing Chest and Back. I woke up really early today, hoping to hit the gym at 7am but as soon as I stepped out of the shower, I realized that the roads are wet and in a distant, thunders can be heard. So not wanting to get soaked like two days ago, I decided to start eating really early instead.

So now, I will only start my workout right after work, sometime around 6 pm.

Yesterday was my cardio training and just a month ago, I can't run for nuts. I was so unhealthy, I often pass funny jokes at my friends who jogs during their lunch breaks. Now, things are different. I'm now one of those guys who goes jogging during my lunch break. Totally ironic.

My cardiovascular health has increased tremendously. I ran non stop (most of the journey was uphill at Imbiah Trails, Sentosa) and completed the run by 25 minutes. I need to get my bodyfat percentage down to 10% or less to achieve that greatly anticipated Six Pack. As soon as I get money for more supplements, I'll get some CLA and a fat burner as well.

In the upcoming posts, I'll share with you what I intend to buy from www.bodybuilding.com

Have a great week ahead!

Welcome to 247Bodybuilding.

A personal look at life, work, training and living life as carefree as possible.
My friend Tokz suggested that I have this blog so yeah, I'll give it a shot just for the fun of it.

Anyway, I'm not a big bulky muscular guy.. well at least not for now but perhaps someday I will be lean and fit for life. That is the important goal in mind. To be healthy and lead a life full of purpose.

This is the training program I am following right now.
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/dtp-week-3-day-16.html

I'm off to do my Cardio at True Fitness Vivo City. So far, True Fitness has been awesome. I have access to all clubs and I have been training at Vivo, Tampines and Suntec City.

Do talk about, bitch about, rant about, gossip about, hate, love my posts. They are totally honest and yeah.. onward to a transformation..

After this 4 Week Maximum Muscle Program, I start a new 12 week training program also designed by Kris Grethin, Editor in Chief of www.bodybuilding.com

He is also the founder of the DTP program.

Cheers!
